CHESS Wellbeing Programme
What is CHESS Wellbeing?
CHESS Homeless Change Programme *PASSPORT FOR LIFE* is a wellbeing and life skills support programme.
A specially designed programme, that aims to break the cycle of homelessness for individuals who want to achieve a self-sufficient lifestyle and move on purposefully and in good health.
Passport for Life is a comprehensive, inclusive, and accessible holistic programme of wellbeing activities and courses, designed with individuals in mind.
CHESS now works in partnership with a variety of local agencies, to supply a range of exciting opportunities to our clients.
At CHESS, a client’s journey towards self-sufficiency begins the moment they enter our care.
By assessing our clients’ needs, we can offer prompt referrals to partnering agencies and community services, to help individuals with their mental and physical wellbeing. This may include aid in dealing with drug and alcohol issues, weight management, smoking cessation, monitoring cholesterol, blood pressure, provision of a peer mentor service and direct sexual health access. We can also signpost clients to a variety of community-based resources that are freely available, or they can self-refer.
Access to fully funded counselling sessions is also available to our clients upon request.
We believe in nurturing and encouraging our clients to build up their confidence, skills, and abilities; by achieving specific goals they set for themselves, with support and guidance from our dedicated support team.
We offer a variety of ways to engage in the local community, learn new skills, gain access to sport and fitness, find volunteering roles, become involved in environmental activities, tenancy sustainment workshops and access to work support.
We aim to empower our clients with the tools they need to thrive and encourage a meaningful progression at their own pace, towards living independently and to support a positively motivated, successful, and rewarding lifestyle.
There are many fun-based activities that will also be accessible through participation in the CHESS Change Programme.
We endeavour to include, sailing adventures, swimming, ice skating, animal therapy visits, magical mystery day trips and much more.
