Christmas – Chess Homeless

Christmas

Christmas is a wonderful time of year for many people – it can also be the worst.  At CHESS Homeless we try and make it as pleasant as possible and our volunteers are around to provide a cooked Christmas meal and lots of treats!

You can help by donating gifts, chocolates, christmas cake or other items, or by making a financial donation which will ensure we can continue to provide necessary support and accommodation services to those experiencing homelessness and often the absence of family and friends. Click on button below to make a donation to our Christmas Campaign.

Thankyou for helping us make Christmas more special for our service users.

Steven’s Story

Steven is a 70-year old man who was found by CHESS staff on a mattress at the back of a dumpster under a blanket – they actually thought he was dead! He was soaked through and had only one carrier bag with a few items, no clothes and nothing else. He was taken into the CHESS property at Stock firstly for 2 months and then moved into another CHESS property for a few months before CHESS secured him a place in retirement housing in Chelmsford.

You can read the rest of Steven’s story in our Christmas Newsletter which you can download here: CHESS Newsletter – Winter 2022

We thought it would be a great idea for our service users to have a chance at designing our 2022 Christmas cards and they rose to the occasion.

We have selected 2 designs which are now for sale in packs of 6 at £5 per pack.  If you would like to purchase these please drop us an email at fundraising@chesshomeless.org, or give us a call on 01245 281104, or why not pop into 200 New London Rd to pick up a pack and say hello to the team!
